Invitation

Hello my friends.  Please come on in.  Make yourself at home.  The coffee's on and the muffins are out.

Do you ever have so many thoughts and words running through your mind that it almost seems overwhelming?  Or is it just me?  It could be just me...

When these moments come, my tendency is to ramble, to talk, to just blurt out.  However, I have learned that practice is not always the best.  In fact, usually it's not.

To slow, to give the process some time, to wait does not come easily for me.  It does not feel natural.  But I am learning that it is often most beneficial.

This invitation is what has kept coming back to me.  And so, instead of sharing the post I had for today, I share with you this same invitation that I can't seem to get away from.

“Let’s go off by ourselves to a quiet place and rest awhile.”
--Jesus.  Mark 6:31 (NLT)

  1. Oh, this is what I need. I'm distracted, discouraged today. Thanks for this verse, Donnetta.

  2. I will say that since I started the 90 day Bible reading, I've HAD to quiet my life in order to get it done! I'm a day ahead by the way. I am enjoying it so much. Reading things I've read before but seeing it as if it's for the first time. Walking with the men and women of the Bible as they walk through their own journeys with God.

I do tend to "run off at the mouth" when I have too much to think about! :)

  3. It is an invitation I can't get away from either sweet girl. So much so that I know the word the Lord has for me this year is "Quiet." You have helped to confirm this in my heart.

  4. I have to remind my self of that scripture all the time.. to get away and get quiet..and just be with god.. and then all is right with the world (in my soul, anyway)
