Hope Setting

"Have you stopped doing your blog?..."  This was the question posed to me a couple of weeks ago.

My response?    "Stopped? Not intentionally..."

And yet when I consider how long ago it was that I was actually here, it truly must have seemed as if I have stopped.

Have you ever found yourself in a situation that just couldn't be put coherently into words?  That is where I have seemed to have recently found myself.  And even if I could have put it into words, this public place would not have been the forum to do so.

What I can tell you is that my heart has been working through loss... some not so big and others quite great.  Regardless... loss...in all areas...

Spiritually.  Professionally.  Relationally.

Most of the situations remain the same without much relief in sight.

Even so... I'm beginning to sense small flickers of hope.  I recently read the following in the 2nd part of I Peter 1:13 and have been clinging to it since:

"Set your hope wholly and unchangeably on the grace (divine favor) that is coming to you when Jesus Christ (the Messiah) is revealed."

The three words that really stood out to me were "set your hope".

As I am gifted these small flickers of hope, I need to be intentional.  Not just recognize, but set that hope on Him and His grace... still to come.

My days are filling more and more with "hope setting" in the midst.

What has been filling your days?

Ah, Donnetta, I was just thinking about you as I saw your name among my Reader subscriptions and wondered how you were, if busyness and life had squeezed blog time out.  I'm sorry about the losses but I see you already looking for those flickers of hope.

Busyness has also played its fair share role in my lack of posting as well.  But even when I found small snippets of time, I just couldn't find the words.  Definitely working on "finding my voice" again! :-)
