The Gift of Today

There was a time when there were days that it seemed it was all I could do to muster enough energy to get out of bed.

This morning, one of my very first waking thoughts were, "I have been given another day of life.  What a gift."

God is doing a continued work in my heart.  A mighty work for which I am beyond grateful.

I have been clinging to the following since the middle of January.  I believe that I am seeing this promise take life.

I Peter 5:10 (Amp)  "After you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace [Who imparts all blessing and favor], Who has called you to His [own] eternal glory in Christ Jesus, will Himself complete and make you what you ought to be, establish and ground you securely, and strengthen, and settle you."
(NIV) ... "will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast."

What promises and gifts of Him and His grace are you noticing in your own life today?

  1. Donnetta, I know well the place you are in- I will pray for the light to continue to shine into your dark places and fill them up!

I am more and more thankful for the gift of homeschooling today. After a summer when I could barely muster up the motivation to continue, I feel excited now about this year! Praise God for His faithfulness.

  2. Donnetta.....I need to wake up like that tomorrow....I'm thankful for my home church that we are able to go to and that God is blessing us in this unstable time!

  3. This resonates in my heart Donnetta. We have had such miraculous answers to prayer lately - prayers we have prayed for such a long time. It quite literally takes our breath away as He pours out blessing we didn't dare dream of.
He is so good, so faithful. I am so happy you are seeing His truth blossoming in your life. You have such a precious spirit.

  4. Oh I love the Amplified version.

I've been thankful for God's peace over the summer. In my little world because of my job, sometimes summer can be a bit stressful but this year was different, a real gift of peace.

Thank you for taking a moment to stop and chat. I enjoy the presence of you!
