Some of you have recently joined us here. I can't begin to tell you how thrilled I am to have you with us as we gather together!
With that in mind, I am declaring this a welcome and de-lurking post.
If you have been coming around, hanging out, reading… if you have been here but have never joined in the conversation… go ahead. If you are new here, join in.
I’d love to give you an “official” hello!
And to those of you that come to "chat" with me often, go ahead and join the conversation also. I always enjoy hearing from you! Let's introduce ourselves to the new friends coming to this corner of the blogosphere.
It's introductions all around...
I'll start and get the conversation flowing with a few very informal "get to know you" questions:
* What is your favorite ice cream? Mine is a toss up between Mocha Almond Fudge and Chocolate Peanut Butter.
* What is your favorite season? Mine is the fall. I enjoy the crisp breezes and snuggling around a bonfire in sweatshirts and jackets with a cup of something warm in my hands. Although I am so ready for spring I wonder if it might not be my favorite right now.
*What is your favorite time of day? Mine is when my husband gets home from work and the children have come home from school. After going our own way during the days, nothing beats the family all being together once again!
Now it's your turn. Share something about you. Use one of the questions above or share something else completely unrelated.
Due to some items requiring a large majority of my time, energy, focus and attention this weekend, I need to step away from the computer. However, I am working on some things for when I return.
It's COLD outside but the fire is blazing. I've left the coffee on and the muffins are out. Help yourself to whatever else you might find.
Kick off your shoes, grab a throw, put up your feet and make yourself at home. Feel free to talk amongst yourself.
I'll join back in on the other side...
Hi. I've been reading for a few months but have never commented.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite ice cream is rocky road.
I always enjoy reading what you have to say.
Cheryl
Hi there guys - Linds here! I love vanilla icecream and my favourite season has to be Spring. However, aske me again in July, and I would probably say Autumn! Right now I can't wait for the colour and warmth of Spring and the sun out more and the garden starting to bloom. I love my garden, small though it is.
ReplyDeleteFavourite time of the day? Hmmm. Probably evenings, when I can curl up on the couch. As the nest is empty and I am a widow, there is not a great deal of change in terms of people, but I love my home - and I welcome visitors any time!
This is a lovely idea. I may have to do something similar soon too....
Hi! I'm Susan and I'm a Filipino based in the Middle East. I love, love, love chocolate ice cream! And, my favorite season is spring. I don't like it cold and I don't like it hot. Fall seems sad to me so I welcome spring with much gusto.
ReplyDeleteI only came across this blog because of the article "Enduring the Refiner's Fire." I followed the author's blogsite and I just love the warm welcome I felt that I thought joining the conversation is good for the spirit.
To Donna, I can totally relate to the article you wrote. Bless you for putting words to my experience. It's exactly as you wrote.
Well, I think i may have introduced myself in the past! :-)
ReplyDeleteSorry - just could not resist! But I love this idea!
My favorite ice cream is any kind that accompanies a sundae bar! Our favorite around here.
And my favorite time of day is after the girls are in bed when that contented feeling settles in. And all the times the girls just have to give hugs and kisses. And those quiet moments with my husband when we are just together.
I'll play! I'm Sis and my favorite ice cream is any that's cold LOL! Seriously it's a tossup between homemade lemongrass ice cream and Klondike bars. My favorite season is summer, especially since I work for a school system and I'm off then. My favorite time of day is early morning, before anyone else is up - I love that feeling, family safe and warm, snoozing, in bed, me with coffee in hand, reading or quiet time or some undisturbed computer time...
ReplyDeleteSomething about me? I'm in love with Jesus. :)
I so enjoy your blog, and am glad you did this little "get to know you" game!
XO
How sweet,
ReplyDeleteWell I haven't been lurking long but come here this week for a visit and enjoyed my visit :D
Ice-cream - I'm not really an ice-cream girl but when I get an urge it's Heavenly Hash.
My favorite season is the Fall - love the cool crispness of the season and the colors. Love fall food and comfy sweaters.
Favorite time of the day is early morning - drink my coffee and having my 'quiet time' while all others sleep.
One more thing which was unasked but I love to knit :D
Another nice visit here today,
Blessings
Shelley
Hi Donnetta and fellow sharers -
ReplyDeleteI am new to the QC (first learned of you yesterday evening via Crosswalk); enjoying what I receive as a loving approach to the Lord, your family and work encouraged me to join. It's good to be part of this intro session today! Now to the questions:
Ice cream -- I enjoy a few occasionally but coffee jumped to mind. Now I kinda want some.
Season -- I happen to love them all for different reasons. Sometimes there's nothing like a cleansing spring rain or New England leaves in autumn. I also enjoy the sound of snow under boots and wrapping up while welcoming the invigorating air almost as much as the opportunity to relax peacefully outdoors with a light dress and bare feet.
Time of day -- My favorite is also the creative and centering nighttime when all else is quiet, but I appreciate when the sun is up and we can rightfully share those fruits.
Thanks again for this "warmth"! :) Please do stop by if you haven't done so already. God bless you.
Hi! My name is Melanie and I'm occasional reader. I love mint chocolate chip ice cream. Spring is my favorite time of year, probably because I love daffodils and my birthday is in the spring! My favorite time of day is that hour before the kids descend after school. It's the calm before the storm.
ReplyDeleteThis is a lovely idea! Thanks for suggesting it : )

Hi Everyone!
ReplyDeleteLinda here.
My favorite ice cream is chocolate chip.
My favorite season is ..... here in Texas we don't have dramatically different seasons, but I think I like fall the best.
My favorite time of day is evening - when everything gets a quiet hush about it.
It's so nice to meet all of you!
Hi this is Jackie! I have been following your blog for quite some time and enjoy reading your thoughtful posts...thanks by the way!
ReplyDeleteWell, my favorite ice cream would have to have chocolate in it...how about Moose Tracks. Yum!
I live in the Midwest and love having four distinct seasons. Fall would be my favorite. We love to go on hikes at the nearby parks and enjoy the fall colors.
My favorite time of the day is mid afternoon when I get home from my job and take a few moments to myself to read and have a cup of tea...enjoying the quiet after a day working with children.
Coffee or espresso ice cream is probably my favorite. I love all the seasons and look forward to each but if pressed to name one it is probably fall.
ReplyDeleteFavorite time of day? Not really sure except that I know it isn't first thing in the morning!
I enjoy reading your insights in each post, Donnetta, though I don't always have time to comment. Does that make me a semi-lurker? I'm Anne, by the way, and my favorite ice cream is home-made strawberry. My favorite season is spring when perfect and beautiful new growth is on just about everything. My favorite time of day is evening after the chores are done and I can settle down to a good book, preferably with a cat on my lap.
ReplyDeleteOh, and thanks for the muffins and coffee!
I've been visiting for a while, although lurker is a term you are more than welcome to apply to me. *blush*
ReplyDeleteFave ice cream - Neapolitan
Fave season - toss up between spring and fall
Fave time of day - I have recently started to love mornings. :O)
I hope you are enjoying your time away from the computer Donnetta, it is good to unplug once in a while.
I've been here a while but I have to tell you my favorite ice cream is vanilla mixed with peanut butter. Let the ice cream soften just a little then mix in the peanut butter and oh, my goodness, it's good! :)
