Well, here we are. The final day of officially celebrating the new location of My Quiet Corner. Thank you to each and every one of you that have stopped by this week to join with me in the celebration! Your presence has been so fun and means more than you know!! I hope you will continue to come by in the days ahead!
I have discovered some new reads in the past couple of months that I would like to introduce you to. (This does not include the new reads that I believe I have found just this week from those of you that have stopped by and commented.)
New
Faith at Always Faith She and I have connected on things related to foster care, adoption and many other areas.
Audrey at Audrey: A Fashionista Raising 4 Boys Under 4 I've been enjoying her 365 days of fashion advice for mom's.
Shawntele at Saved By Grace is fairly new to blogging but has already become a frequent visitor and commenter keeping me company here in My Quiet Corner.
What new reads have you found lately?
Military Wives
If you've known me for long, you probably know that I have the utmost respect, admiration and appreciation for our military and their families.
Since tomorrow is July 4, it seemed appropriate to point our attention to those serving our country in that way. (I had a couple of other links to military wives that have since put their blogs on hold.)
Monica at Daily Dwelling
Sandra at Diary of a Stay At Home Mom
Cheri at Keeping up with HIS Plans
I know there have to be many more military wives blogging that I'm not aware of. Who have you found that I'm missing?
Today's Gift:
I have found that a large part of blogging is the friendships that develop. If you asked me when I started that I would have made the connections and found the friends that I have, I never would have believed you. Surprisingly... it is so.
In honor of friendships, today I am offering a monthly handwritten note/card personally from me for the next six months. That will mean personal snail mail every month, just for you.
To have your name entered for this opportunity, share with me if you have a preference as to how your blog reads appear in a feedreader. I have heard some say that they will not continue to read a blog if it does not fully publish to the feed reader page. What has your experience been and what is your preference?
Tweet, Facebook, or post at your blog about this giveaway (come back and tell me) and receive another entry.
This giveaway will close tomorrow, Sat., July 4 at 9 AM (CST) and a random winner will be selected. Please be sure you leave contact information for me to reach you. All winners will be posted on Tuesday, July 7.
Donnetta, thank you SO much for linking to my blog, that is so sweet of you.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to be back home and I'm going to add you to my Google Reader so I can visit you often :)
Hugs,
Sandra
Thanks for link, you are so thoughtful. :)
ReplyDeleteI don't really have a preference when it comes to my feeds...I hadn't really thought about it much except to say the short version takes up less space! I guess that doesn't assist you much does it? lol
I am really enjoying your blog and am glad I came across it!
ReplyDeleteI don't really have a preference when it comes to feedreaders. I mainly just bookmark the blogs I read and read them that way.
Aww, thanks for the link! So sweet of you! I've enjoyed reading you for the last few months, as well!
ReplyDeleteI'm a fan of google reader and i installed the "Next" button in my browser so it really doesn't matter anymore what the feed setting is marked because every time you hit the next button, it takes you to the next unread post ON that person's blog and not just a blurb in the feed reader. Great invention! *grin*
Donetta,
ReplyDeleteI'm embarrassed to tell you I don't even understand what a feed is :-) I always panic when little boxes pop up asking questions like that. You are in my bloglines - if that's what you mean.
Here are a couple of blogs I have discovered over the past several months that I really enjoy:
http://prairieprologue.blogspot.com/
http://asimpleroad.blogspot.com/
Have a wonderful 4th of July!
Donetta, you are just the sweetest lady! What a thoughtful and fun gift you are offering.
ReplyDeleteI, personally, don't like having to click on another page to finish reading a post. Sometimes I have been guilty of not reading the entire post if it is not all on the page.
Another military wife blog that I enjoy is Big Blueberry Eyes at http://mdbeau.blogspot.com/
Michelle is an awesome Christian woman who has the special honor of raising a daughter with Down's Syndrome. I think you would enjoy her blog too.
Thank you so much for the link. I'm going to enjoy checking out the others you have linked here as well.
ReplyDeleteI do prefer to have the full post appear in the feed. I usually don't click over the check out the site if the whole feed isn't there. Although, I won't say that I would completely unsubscribe for that reason.
Thanks for linking to me, and for sharing new links with us through the week! I've added a few to my Bloglines.
ReplyDeleteI'd rather someone have their WHOLE post in Bloglines. I won't delete them if they don't, but the lead in sentences better be pretty compelling some days for me to click over and read the full post. I just don't have time somse days, honestly. Ok, most days I don't!
Oh dear, I missed the time limit on this one too, but what a sweet prize. The only thing I get in the mail is junk mail and bills. I can't remember the last time there was a handwritten note in there. Someone will be very blessed!
